# Licensing

Banana EA MT5 uses a license key to validate each installation. The key must be entered every time you attach the EA to a chart.

## Entering your license key[](#entering-your-license-key "Direct link to Entering your license key")

In the EA inputs dialog, find the **License Key** field and paste your key exactly as provided:

```
xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
```

Do not add spaces before or after the key.

## Where to find your key[](#where-to-find-your-key "Direct link to Where to find your key")

Your license key is delivered by email after purchase and is also available in the iTradeAIMS customer portal at [itradeaims.net](https://itradeaims.net).

## What happens if the key is invalid[](#what-happens-if-the-key-is-invalid "Direct link to What happens if the key is invalid")

* The dashboard displays a **license error** message.
* No trades will be placed.
* An alert popup appears on the first tick.

## Multiple terminals[](#multiple-terminals "Direct link to Multiple terminals")

Each running MT5 terminal instance counts as one license activation. Running the EA on multiple chart tabs within the **same terminal** does not consume additional activations. Check your license terms for the number of terminal instances covered.

## Backtesting[](#backtesting "Direct link to Backtesting")

When running the MT5 Strategy Tester, the EA detects tester mode automatically and uses the backtest license path. You do not need to enter your live license key for backtests.

## Renewing or transferring[](#renewing-or-transferring "Direct link to Renewing or transferring")

Contact [iTradeAIMS support](https://itradeaims.net) for renewals, upgrades, or if you need to transfer an activation to a new machine or broker.
