## Strategic Roles of "The Fruit"[](#strategic-roles-of-the-fruit "Direct link to Strategic Roles of \"The Fruit\"")

A Divergent Bar is primarily an **exhaustion and angulation pattern**. Within the AIMS Methodology, it serves two major roles:

### 1. Primary Strategy: Target Taking & Profit Harvesting[](#1-primary-strategy-target-taking--profit-harvesting "Direct link to 1. Primary Strategy: Target Taking & Profit Harvesting")

When riding an extended trend (such as a Wave 3 or Wave 5 expansion), price eventually over-stretches far away from the Alligator lines. This creates extreme angulation.

* When a Fruit arrow prints in the direction opposing your active trade, treat it as an early warning of momentum exhaustion.
* Standard practice: Bank 50% to 100% of open profits, or tighten trailing stops to the previous bar's high/low.

### 2. Secondary Strategy: High-Angulation Reversal Setup[](#2-secondary-strategy-high-angulation-reversal-setup "Direct link to 2. Secondary Strategy: High-Angulation Reversal Setup")

For aggressive traders seeking structural turning points:

1. **Angulation Verification**: Price must be wide open relative to the Lips (Green line) and Teeth (Red line).

2. **Setup Bar Confirmation**: Wait for the candle displaying the Fruit arrow to close completely.

3. **Pending Order Placement**:

   * **Bull Fruit Buy**: Place a `Buy Stop` 1 pip above the High of the Fruit bar. Stop Loss is set 1 pip below the Fruit bar's Low.
   * **Bear Fruit Sell**: Place a `Sell Stop` 1 pip below the Low of the Fruit bar. Stop Loss is set 1 pip above the Fruit bar's High.

4. **Order Expiry**: If the order is not triggered within 2–3 bars, cancel it. Exhaustion moves that stall typically turn into consolidation rather than immediate reversals.
