Partial Close

Partial close locks in profit by closing a percentage of the position at configurable distance milestones. Up to three partial close levels are available (PC1, PC2, PC3).

How levels work

Each level specifies:

  1. How much to close — a fraction of the current remaining lot size.
  2. When to trigger — the profit distance that activates the close.

Levels fire sequentially. PC2 only becomes active after PC1 has already triggered, and PC3 only after PC2.

Level 1 (PC1)

InputDefaultDescription
Partial Close MethodATRHow the trigger distance is measured
PC1 Percentage0.5Close 50% of current lots at trigger
PC1 Trigger Value1.0Trigger threshold (ATR multiplier, pips, or candle multiple)

PC Method options

CandleTrigger after Value × signal candle range of profit

Level 2 (PC2)

InputDefaultDescription
PC2 Percentage0.25Close 25% of remaining lots
PC2 Trigger Value2.0Second trigger threshold (0 = off)

Level 3 (PC3)

PC3 Percentage0.25Close 25% of remaining lots
PC3 Trigger Value3.0Third trigger threshold (0 = off)

Remainder policy after partial close

Remainder policy after partial close (TMExitTemplate) controls how the surviving position is managed after one or more partial closes occur:

OptionBehaviour
Partial OnlyOnly partial close levels manage the trade; TP and trailing remain as configured (default)
Other templatesAdvanced: overrides trailing/TP behaviour on the remainder

Example: three-level setup

With defaults:

  • PC1: close 50% of position at 1× ATR profit
  • PC2: close 25% of remaining (12.5% of original) at 2× ATR
  • PC3: close 25% of remaining (6.25% of original) at 3× ATR
  • Runner: the remaining ~31% of original position rides toward the full TP

The dashboard shows compact partial-close level status, e.g. PC: 25%@3x 25%@10x 25%@15x, updating in real time.
