AIMS The Fruit — Signals & Chart Anatomy
This guide details the candle geometry, Wingdings arrow plots, buffer mappings, and validation rules for AIMS The Fruit indicator on MetaTrader 4.
What is a "Fruit" Divergent Bar?
A Divergent Bar is a candlestick pattern originating from Bill Williams' classic trading mechanics, modernized by iTradeAIMS with Alligator Angulation and Fractal Breakout filtering.
When price moves with extreme velocity, it stretches far away from the Alligator moving average lines. This divergence creates excessive tension. The Fruit indicator flags the exact bar where that impulse exhausts itself and momentum rolls over.

Divergent Bar Classification Rules
1. Bullish Divergent Bar (BuDB — Bull Fruit)
- New Low: The current candle makes a lower low than the preceding candle (
Low[i] < Low[i+1]). - Bullish Close: The candle closes in the upper half of its total range:
Close[i] > (High[i] + Low[i]) / 2 - Alligator Angulation: When
InpFilterGatoris enabled, the high of the candle must remain completely below all three Alligator lines (Lips, Teeth, and Jaw). - Visual Plot: DodgerBlue arrow (Wingdings code 236) plotted below the candle wick.
2. Bearish Divergent Bar (BeDB — Bear Fruit)
- New High: The current candle makes a higher high than the preceding candle (
High[i] > High[i+1]). - Bearish Close: The candle closes in the lower half of its total range:
Close[i] < (High[i] + Low[i]) / 2 - Alligator Angulation: When
InpFilterGatoris enabled, the low of the candle must remain completely above all three Alligator lines (Lips, Teeth, and Jaw). - Visual Plot: FireBrick arrow (Wingdings code 238) plotted above the candle wick.
Multi-Layer Filter Hierarchy
AIMS The Fruit applies several built-in algorithmic gates before printing a signal arrow:
| Filter Setting | Default | Verification Condition |
|---|---|---|
InpFilterAIMS | true | Fractal Gate: Bull Fruit requires price to breach the previous lower fractal; Bear Fruit requires price to breach the previous upper fractal. |
InpFilterAwesome | true | AO Deceleration: Bull Fruit requires AO momentum to be decelerating (not rising); Bear Fruit requires AO momentum to not be falling. |
InpFilterGator | true | Angulation Distance: Enforces total geometric separation between candle wicks and the Alligator lines. |
InpFilterNoMansLand | false | No Man's Land Corridor: Restricts signals to the structural corridor between the Alligator and the Purple trend line. |
InpFilterMO | false | Market Open Reference: Suppresses signals that conflict with the session opening benchmark level. |
MQL4 Buffer Mappings (iCustom)
Algorithmic traders and Expert Advisors can read signal data via standard MQL4 iCustom calls:
| Buffer Index | Buffer Name | Plot Type | Default Color | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | Bear Fruit | DRAW_ARROW | FireBrick (238) | Price value where bearish arrow is plotted (empty value = EMPTY_VALUE) |
| 1 | Bull Fruit | DRAW_ARROW | DodgerBlue (236) | Price value where bullish arrow is plotted (empty value = EMPTY_VALUE) |
| 2 | Market Open | DRAW_LINE | SlateGray (Dot) | Horizontal reference line for market opening price |
Example MQL4 Reading Snippet
double bearFruit = iCustom(Symbol(), Period(), "AIMSFruit", 0, 1);
double bullFruit = iCustom(Symbol(), Period(), "AIMSFruit", 1, 1);
if(bearFruit != EMPTY_VALUE && bearFruit > 0)
{
// Confirmed Bearish Fruit on closed candle bar 1
}
if(bullFruit != EMPTY_VALUE && bullFruit > 0)
{
// Confirmed Bullish Fruit on closed candle bar 1
}
Signal Validation Checklist
- Wait for Closed Bar: Never anticipate a Fruit arrow while the bar is still ticking. Candlesticks can expand and re-close in the middle of their range before the interval closes.
- Confirm Elliott Wave Stage: Fruit signals carry maximum statistical significance at the climax of Wave 5 or during climactic corrective Wave C exhausts.
- Check Higher-Timeframe Angulation: If the higher timeframe is in a roaring Wave 3 breakout, counter-trend Fruit signals should be used strictly to bank profits on trend runners rather than opening aggressive counter-trend positions.
