Your First Trade Setup

This page gives a conservative first setup workflow for new BananaEA users.

Use demo first. Do not use live funds until installation, presets, risk settings, and broker behavior are understood.

Before You Start

Confirm:

  • BananaEA is installed.
  • MT4 AutoTrading is off while you configure settings.
  • Correct chart symbol is open.
  • Correct timeframe is selected.
  • The intended .set file is available.
  • You know where the Experts and Journal tabs are.

Load The EA

  1. Open the chart you want to test.
  2. Drag BananaEA from Navigator to the chart.
  3. Enable required EA permissions.
  4. Load the preset file if you are using one.
  5. Review risk settings before clicking OK.

Beginner Risk Setup

For first testing:

  • Use demo.
  • Use a small risk setting.
  • Limit the number of open trades.
  • Avoid multiple presets on the same account until you understand the behavior.
  • Do not increase risk to chase results.

What To Monitor

During the first session, check:

  • EA smiley/status icon.
  • Experts tab messages.
  • Journal tab messages.
  • Spread.
  • Lot size.
  • Stop loss and take profit placement.
  • Any order rejection message.

If A Trade Opens

Check:

  • Is the lot size expected?
  • Is stop loss present?
  • Is take profit present if your setup uses one?
  • Is the trade on the intended symbol?
  • Did the EA print any warning?

If No Trade Opens

No trade is not automatically a problem.

Check:

  • Trading session filters.
  • Spread filter.
  • Signal toggles.
  • AutoTrading state.
  • Whether market conditions match the preset.

First Setup Checklist

  • Demo account used.
  • Correct symbol and timeframe selected.
  • Preset loaded.
  • Risk method reviewed.
  • Lot size checked.
  • Experts and Journal checked.
  • Support notes saved if errors appear.
