Risk Management Features

This page summarizes the risk-related features users should understand before enabling BananaEA on a live account.

Position Sizing

BananaEA can calculate lot size using different methods, depending on the package and settings:

  • Risk percentage
  • Fixed money amount
  • Fixed lot size

Check the exact input names in the settings guide and confirm the calculated lot size on demo before live use.

Spread Protection

Spread filters can stop the EA from entering trades when trading costs are above the configured limit.

User checks:

  • Compare MaxSpread with normal spread for your broker and symbol.
  • Use a wider setting only if you understand the cost.
  • Avoid changing spread limits just to force more trades.

Stop Loss And Take Profit

BananaEA may support several stop loss and take profit methods, including fixed-pip, candle-range, and ATR-based settings.

Before live use:

  1. Confirm the preset uses the intended SL/TP method.
  2. Check that the expected stop distance is reasonable for the symbol.
  3. Run a backtest and review drawdown, trade count, and average loss.

Break-Even, Trailing, And Partial Close

These features control what happens after a trade is open. They can change exit timing and final trade outcome.

Use them carefully:

  • Change one exit feature at a time.
  • Test the change before using it live.
  • Keep notes so you know which setting caused which behavior.

Daily Limits

Daily drawdown, maximum trades, and similar controls can help prevent the EA from continuing after conditions become unsuitable.

Do not rely on EA limits alone. Monitor your account, broker connection, and open trades.

Practical Starting Point

For new users:

  • Start on demo.
  • Use a small risk setting.
  • Load only one preset at a time.
  • Confirm symbol, timeframe, spread, and risk before enabling AutoTrading.
  • Ask support if the lot size or stop distance does not match what you expect.
