FAQ
Which platforms are covered?
This guide covers The Setup Indicator MT5 for MetaTrader 5 and AIMS Box Advanced Indicator for MetaTrader 4.
If you use MT4, start with the MT4 Guide. The MT4 version is simpler than the MT5 version and does not use the full AIMS Confluence Indicator dashboard.
Where do I get the installer?
Use the official download link from your member area, purchase email, or support team.
Why does Windows warn me about the installer?
The MetaTrader installer may show a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning because it is not code-signed.
If the installer came from your official iTradeAIMS member area, purchase email, or support team, this warning can be expected.
To continue from the Windows protected your PC screen:
- Click
More info. - Check that the app is the The Setup Indicator MT5 installer for MT5, or the AIMS Box Advanced Indicator installer for MT4.
- Click
Run anyway.
Do not disable Windows Defender. If Windows reports a virus, quarantines the file, or you did not get the installer from an official iTradeAIMS source, stop and contact support.
What is the license key input?
MetaTrader versions use a license key input when a key is required. On current MT4 builds, the visible input is SerialKey. Enter your license key exactly as issued.
Where should I install the MetaTrader version?
Install into the MetaTrader data folder.
Open the terminal you want to use, then click:
File > Open Data Folder
Select that same folder when the installer asks for an install location.
Can I use the indicator on more than one MetaTrader terminal?
If your license allows it, run the installer once for each terminal and select that terminal's own data folder.
Each broker terminal has its own data folder.
Why can I not see the indicator in Navigator?
Usually one of these is true:
- MetaTrader needs to be restarted or Navigator refreshed.
- The installer was pointed at a different terminal's data folder.
- You are looking under the wrong Navigator section.
Check Navigator > Indicators > iTradeAIMS.
Does the AIMS Box repaint?
Confirmed fractal-based levels need enough candles to become stable. A tentative box can appear and then disappear if the next candle changes the structure.
For practical use, wait for confirmation before treating a box as a stable reference.
Why are there no boxes?
No boxes can be normal if the chart does not yet have enough valid structure or chart history.
Also check:
- The market is open.
- The chart is receiving data.
- License is accepted.
- Show Boxes or Boxes is enabled.
- On MT5, you are on the correct dashboard mode.
What does Blocked mean?
Blocked means the setup failed a check.
Common examples include:
- Box too tall.
- Gator filter rejected.
- Purple filter rejected.
- ATR Box filter rejected.
- Market or news context is not acceptable.
Should I take every box breakout?
No. A breakout is a prompt to review the chart.
Before acting, check trend direction, support and resistance, spread, news, stop placement, box height, and your own trading plan.
Does the indicator place trades?
The Setup Indicator MT5 is a chart indicator. Treat dashboard trade references as information for review unless you are using a separate trade-management or automation product that explicitly places orders.
How do I set alerts?
MetaTrader alerts are controlled by indicator settings and the MetaTrader platform settings.
Start with popup alerts only. Add sound, email, or push alerts after testing the platform settings.
Should I join the Discord community?
Yes. Discord is useful for setup questions, screenshots, common beginner issues, and product update notes.

What should beginners change first?
Keep settings simple.
Useful first settings:
- SerialKey, if required.
- Show Boxes or Boxes.
- Show Active Box Signal Levels or Signal Levels.
- MT5 dashboard scale and theme if those controls are available.
- Popup alerts if your platform version exposes alert controls.
Avoid changing filters while learning.
Is the indicator financial advice?
No. The Setup Indicator MT5 is not financial advice and does not recommend that you buy or sell. You are responsible for your trading decisions and risk management.
